PROF RAHAT KHAN

Miss Rahat Khan MBBS, MRCOG (London) is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with vast clinical experience in all aspects of Gynaecology. She believes in best practice and delivering high quality, patient-centred care.

Clinical interests

General gynaecology including pelvic pain, infertility, heavy periods, irregular periods, cervical erosions, uterine and vaginal prolapse, menopausal symptoms, postmenopausal bleeding, recurrent miscarriages, Mirena coil, contraception advice, painful periods, endometriosis, endocrine disorders including polycystic ovaries, vulval skin conditions, premenstrual symptoms, ovarian cysts, post-childbirth perineal trauma, cervical smears, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy.

Academic background

Miss Khan received her preliminary education in Malta and spent her childhood in England, Malta and Rome. She obtained her primary medical qualification in Karachi with distinctions and moved back to UK. She completed her entire obstetrics and gynaecology training in the South Thames London deanery rotational training programme in the UK further to which she obtained her substantive Consultant post in a NHS Hospital in Essex. She has publications in peer-reviewed journals and has published chapters in textbooks.

Miss Khan has held additional roles as the Labour ward Lead and Clinical Services Group Lead in the NHS and has made vast evidence-based improvements in clinical services for her patients and the department. She regularly participates in continuous professional activities, audits and patient safety and quality improvement activities to keep up-to-date with her skills and practice. She believes in listening to her patients and providing best, high quality and safe care tailored to woman’s needs.
