Dr Kwok Tang

Dr Kwok Tang MD FRCP qualified at the University of Edinburgh Medical School, with postgraduate Gastroenterology/Hepatology higher specialist training in London at Guys & St Thomas’s Hospitals, University College Hospital, and completed his training at the Institute of Liver Studies, King’s College Hospital. He is dual-accredited in both Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine. He pursued further sub-speciality training in advanced endoscopy/colonoscopy and ERCP as Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (1998-1999).

Dr Tang was appointed as substantive Consultant in 2005 and now provides a comprehensive Gastroenterology/Hepatology service at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, including all aspects of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy/ERCP. He is active in Endoscopy training in his role as both Educational and Clinical Trainee Supervisor in general Gastroenterology. He is an examiner for UCL/RFH Final MB and CMT interviewer at London Deanery.

Dr Tang was awarded a Wellcome Institute Training Fellowship and conducted full-time research at the Institute of Hepatology, University College London (2000-2003), completing his MD thesis in Viral Hepatitis immunopathogenesis, presenting and publishing widely in this field. He was BCF Lead in Hepatology 2005-2014 and provided a broad HPB Service with dedicated weekly interventional ERCP list and Hepatitis Treatment Clinic at Barnet & Chase Farm Hospitals.

He is a fully accredited Specialist devoted to the full range of Gastroenterology including IBS, IBD, hepatology, pancreatobiliary disease, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
